SMC setups on gold cluster around the busiest hours, often called kill zones.

| London kill zone ~07:00–10:00 | Often sweeps one side of the Asian range, then sets the day's direction |
| New York kill zone ~12:00–15:00 | US data; continuation or reversal of London's move |
| Late New York after ~17:00 | Quieter; fewer clean setups |
